The Curse of the Crumpled Hawk

A Horror Story
by Rocco

Whilst investigating the death of a local psychiatrist, a smart teacher called ROCCO Bloggs uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, crumpled hawk circulating throughout Wales. As soon as anyone uses the hawk, he or she has exactly 70 days left to live.

The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look zombified. A marked person feels like an urban ostrich to touch.

ROCCO gets hold of the hawk, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into his mind: a scrawny giraffe balancing on a short psychiatrist, an old newspaper headline about an unfortunate accident, a hooded bear ranting about hands and a drinking well located in a creepy place.

When ROCCO notices his legs have ostrich-like properties, he realises that the curse of the crumpled hawk is true and calls in his son, a author called Albert Jolie, to help.

Albert examines the hawk and willingly submits himself to the curse. He finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. He finds the scrawny giraffe balancing on a short psychiatrist particularly chilling. He joins the queue for a supernatural death.

ROCCO and Albert pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded bear. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
