Spiteful No Man's Sky

A Short Story
by An-On

No Man's Sky was thinking about Game Reviewer again. Game was a gracious god with slimy thigs and brown arms.

No Man's walked over to the window and reflected on his fun surroundings. He had always hated chaotic The Internet with its precious, prickly planets. It was a place that encouraged his tendency to feel hopeful.

Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the a gracious figure of Game Reviewer.

No Man's gulped. He glanced at his own reflection. He was a spiteful, cowardly, tea drinker with fragile thigs and scrawny arms. His friends saw him as a slow, smiling saint. Once, he had even brought a cooing game developer back from the brink of death.

But not even a spiteful person who had once brought a cooing game developer back from the brink of death, was prepared for what Game had in store today.

The moon shone like watching dogs, making No Man's worried. No Man's grabbed a peculiar alien that had been strewn nearby; he massaged it with his fingers.

As No Man's stepped outside and Game came closer, he could see the flipping smile on her face.

"Look No Man's," growled Game, with an energetic glare that reminded No Man's of gracious ostriches. "It's not that I don't love you, but I want a good review. You owe me 8352 dollars."

No Man's looked back, even more worried and still fingering the peculiar alien. "Game, please like my game," he replied.

They looked at each other with overwhelmed feelings, like two salty, scattered seals playing at a very understanding release party, which had indie music playing in the background and two friendly uncles youtubing to the beat.

No Man's studied Game's slimy thigs and brown arms. Eventually, he took a deep breath. "I'm afraid I declared myself bankrupt," explained No Man's. "You will never get your money."

"No!" objected Game. "You lie!"

"I do not!" retorted No Man's. "Now get your slimy thigs out of here before I hit you with this peculiar alien."

Game looked proud, her wallet raw like a ratty, repulsive rock.

No Man's could actually hear Game's wallet shatter into 8352 pieces. Then the gracious god hurried away into the distance.

Not even a cup of tea would calm No Man's's nerves tonight.
