Noble Helen Chen

A Short Story
by AngryJellyfish

Tony Parkes looked at the warped kettle in his hands and felt relaxed.

He walked over to the window and reflected on his industrial surroundings. He had always hated dirty Upper Boggington with its quarrelsome, quaint quarries. It was a place that encouraged his tendency to feel relaxed.

Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Helen Chen. Helen was a noble writer with spiky fingernails and wobbly toenails.

Tony gulped. He glanced at his own reflection. He was a cute, gentle, whiskey drinker with hairy fingernails and curvy toenails. His friends saw him as a bitter, black bear. Once, he had even helped a miniature puppy recover from a flying accident.

But not even a cute person who had once helped a miniature puppy recover from a flying accident, was prepared for what Helen had in store today.

The sleet rained like hopping lizards, making Tony cross.

As Tony stepped outside and Helen came closer, he could see the nice smile on her face.

"I am here because I want justice," Helen bellowed, in a deranged tone. She slammed her fist against Tony's chest, with the force of 6112 puppies. "I frigging love you, Tony Parkes."

Tony looked back, even more cross and still fingering the warped kettle. "Helen, I ate your puppy," he replied.

They looked at each other with stable feelings, like two faffdorking, fantastic frogs drinking at a very malicious snow storm, which had orchestral music playing in the background and two virtuous uncles singing to the beat.

Tony studied Helen's spiky fingernails and wobbly toenails. Eventually, he took a deep breath. "I'm sorry, but I can't give you justice," he explained, in pitying tones.

Helen looked lonely, her body raw like a plain, plastic piano.

Tony could actually hear Helen's body shatter into 1603 pieces. Then the noble writer hurried away into the distance.

Not even a glass of whiskey would calm Tony's nerves tonight.
