The Curse of the Minuscule Kettle

A Horror Story
by Dove Windsor

Whilst investigating the death of a local nurse, a brave swordsman called Chantal Chan uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, minuscule kettle circulating throughout Kent. As soon as anyone uses the kettle, he or she has exactly 55 days left to live.

The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look pickled. A marked person feels like a short kitten to touch.

Chantal gets hold of the kettle, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into her mind: a giant snake balancing on a ribbed nurse, an old newspaper headline about a bear baiting accident, a hooded fox ranting about eyes and a drinking well located in a chilly place.

When Chantal notices her thighs have kitten-like properties, she realises that the curse of the minuscule kettle is true and calls in her grandmother, a painter called Stanley Chen, to help.

Stanley examines the kettle and willingly submits herself to the curse. She finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. She finds the giant snake balancing on a ribbed nurse particularly chilling. She joins the queue for a supernatural death.

Chantal and Stanley pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded fox. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
