The Curse of the Tattered Teapot
A Horror Story
by Dove Windsor
Whilst investigating the death of a local detective, a daring computer programmer called Casper Zeus uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, tattered teapot circulating throughout Africa. As soon as anyone uses the teapot, he or she has exactly 100 days left to live.
The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look pickled. A marked person feels like a grey badger to touch.
Casper gets hold of the teapot, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into his mind: a ginger kitten balancing on a fat detective, an old newspaper headline about a flying accident, a hooded toad ranting about feet and a drinking well located in a cosy place.
When Casper notices his moles have badger-like properties, he realises that the curse of the tattered teapot is true and calls in his granddaughter, a navigator called Annabelle Doop, to help.
Annabelle examines the teapot and willingly submits herself to the curse. She finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. She finds the ginger kitten balancing on a fat detective particularly chilling. She joins the queue for a supernatural death.
Casper and Annabelle pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded toad. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
