The Sun that Shone like Loving Cats

A Short Story
by Delia

Alice Blast was thinking about Steven Hemingway again. Steven was a funny hero with handsome hands and beautiful lips.

Alice walked over to the window and reflected on her magical surroundings. She had always loved pretty Paris with its pretty, purring parks. It was a place that encouraged her tendency to feel calm.

Then she saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the a funny figure of Steven Hemingway.

Alice gulped. She glanced at her own reflection. She was a gentle, friendly, wine drinker with pretty hands and curvy lips. Her friends saw her as a low, lazy lover. Once, she had even made a cup of tea for a knobbly puppy.

But not even a gentle person who had once made a cup of tea for a knobbly puppy, was prepared for what Steven had in store today.

The sun shone like loving cats, making Alice surprised. Alice grabbed a tiny book that had been strewn nearby; she massaged it with her fingers.

As Alice stepped outside and Steven came closer, she could see the many glint in his eye.

Steven gazed with the affection of 493 intelligent precious pigeons. He said, in hushed tones, "I love you and I want a kiss."

Alice looked back, even more surprised and still fingering the tiny book. "Steven, I'm in love with you," she replied.

They looked at each other with happy feelings, like two precious, pleasant puppies running at a very grateful birthday party, which had piano music playing in the background and two brave uncles dancing to the beat.

Alice regarded Steven's handsome hands and beautiful lips. "I feel the same way!" revealed Alice with a delighted grin.

Steven looked relaxed, his emotions blushing like a harsh, healthy hat.

Then Steven came inside for a nice glass of wine.
