The Curse of the Spotty Teapot
A Horror Story
by Dove Windsor
Whilst investigating the death of a local police officer, a clever psychiatrist called Rachel Chan uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, spotty teapot circulating throughout Ireland. As soon as anyone uses the teapot, he or she has exactly 31 days left to live.
The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look upside-down. A marked person feels like a sloppy flamingo to touch.
Rachel gets hold of the teapot, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into her mind: a spiky tortoise balancing on a picturesque police officer, an old newspaper headline about an apocalyptic accident, a hooded goldfish ranting about hands and a drinking well located in a picturesque place.
When Rachel notices her lips have flamingo-like properties, she realises that the curse of the spotty teapot is true and calls in her lover, a detective called Pete Thomas, to help.
Pete examines the teapot and willingly submits himself to the curse. He finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. He finds the spiky tortoise balancing on a picturesque police officer particularly chilling. He joins the queue for a supernatural death.
Rachel and Pete pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded goldfish. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
