The Curse of the Squidgy Sausage

Whilst investigating the death of a local housekeeper, a helpful scout called Annie Blacksmith uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, squidgy sausage circulating throughout New York. As soon as anyone uses the sausage, he or she has exactly 124 days left to live.

The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look mirrored. A marked person feels like a greasy donkey to touch.

Annie gets hold of the sausage, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into her mind: a magic frog balancing on a rural housekeeper, an old newspaper headline about a sausage accident, a hooded owl ranting about elbows and a drinking well located in a dull place.

When Annie notices her elbows have donkey-like properties, she realises that the curse of the squidgy sausage is true and calls in her lover, a swordsman called Katy Russell, to help.

Katy examines the sausage and willingly submits herself to the curse. She finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. She finds the magic frog balancing on a rural housekeeper particularly chilling. She joins the queue for a supernatural death.

Annie and Katy pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded owl. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
